CSI:NY S4E20 SPOILER

This is a major spoiler following the csi:ny season currently screening on AXN.
Upcoming episode : Taxi.

I'll still call it a spoiler though it probably won't make complete sense till you watch it. But then again, it's a major L2729 spoiler though it won't bring you any closer to who the cabbie killer is. One of the best season 4 episodes by far although some parts are pretty outrageous.

Picture if you will, Reed's 23 and he's a rising journalist. So when he gets kidnapped by the cabbie killer, how is it that he pays so much attention to detail when he should be fearing for his life? How does he remember that the cabbie killer drove for 20 minutes on the street and 25 minutes on the highway? How does he remember the smell of candy corn and looking at the fendi billboard through high windows? It might make more sense if they found a trace on a jacket or something the cabbie killer left behind, or something in the cab.

Well for L2729, I actually figured it out before I streamed the episode. The rosary they always screened when the cabbie killer was picking his next victim up had to be a vital clue to the audience and as it seems, a dead giveaway. I knew it was from some bible verse or something. So I looked up L books of the bible.

"None devoted, which shall be devoted of men, shall be redeemed; but shall surely be put to death." Leviticus 27:29

So the cabbie killer turns out to be some psychopath. Not what I was hoping for but I have to say it was brilliant. Watched it about 2 weeks ago and watched it again today just for kicks. And I'll probably watch it a third time when AXN screens it on tuesday. I love the Charon part of the story though. When Mac and Flack busted into the abandoned fire house and the cabbie killer said "I am Charon, son of Erebus and Nyx." Makes sense somehow, but it's weird he took on the profile of a character from greek mythology.

[Charon was the ferryman of Hades. Charon carried souls of the newly deceased across the river that divided the world of the living from the world of the dead. Those who could not pay the fee, or those whose bodies were left unburied, had to wander the shores for one hundred years. A coin to pay Charon for passage, usually an obolus or danake was placed on or in the mouth of the dead person. ]

The cabbie killer saw his victims on real estate billboards and he felt that they were full of lies, sinners, and so he decided to play Charon. His victims were always dumped into bodies of water, Hudson River, the fountain in Brill Park, he believed that he was "ferrying them across the river" much like Charon and that he was redeeming their sins. Typical psychopath story but I'm disappointed that the cabbie killer didn't "pay their fee" by putting coins in their mouth or something creepy, but I guess that would have made it too obvious what L2729 referred to but in the end it seemed like he wanted everybody to know. Or maybe he wanted them to pay for their sins by wandering the shores for one hundred years. The CSI:NY writers have been spot on this season, love the stories for season 4 and I hope season 5 will be even better.

Season 5 sneak peaks as soon as I figure out when AXN decides to screen season 5. The sooner the better, streaming it off the net is not as satisfying as watching it from a more reliable source. Starhub should get a link with CBS or something. AXN is way backdated. I won't even start on the bad shows that they still screen.
